Hanmer Springs Camp
This week from Monday to Wednesday my class went on camp to Hanmer Springs. We were sorted into car groups, activity groups and cabin groups. When we got there the first activity for my activity group was biking. We got given bikes and helmets to use. Then we were biking I found the biking slightly hard but keeping up with the front group was quite hard but I managed to. My favourite part of it was when we went around the pump track where you are meant to not peddle. After biking the class went to the hot pools. I found that the hottest pools are really nice to be in after biking. On Tuesday the first activity was orienteering. I found this great fun we walked around the pine forest to find markers with numbers on if we got the most point we would win. My group got lots of points but we lost by 10 points but I still really enjoyed this. The second activity was too walk up Conical Hill. At the top there was a amazing view and a little look out looking out over Hanmer. Most of my group ran down the hill. When we were at the bottom we had to wait for ages for the adults to catch up. Then we went to the lolly shop. I got 2 Red paint brushes 2 extreme and a bag of gold nuggets bubble gum.
The third activity was to go tree climbing. We go told how to bele each other when we whe climbing so we would be safe. The tree was easy to climb and in the end we had a competition to get to the top fastest. Callum went first and he got a record of 15 seconds. I went second and got a record of 12 seconds and Emil went third and he got a record of 9 seconds.
On Wednesday we walked to the cemetery and filled out a question sheet on the people who had died. After that we walked around the statue walk witch I found amazing. There was a Dog, a Eagle, a Possum, a Giant and a group of mushrooms.
My favourite thing we did was maybe seeing the Eagle statue.
Kia Ora Morgan.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed re-living camp when I read your recount. I thought camp was pretty awesome and I hope you did too! Have you been to Hanmer Springs before? It is one of my favourite places to go with my family and I really enjoy relaxing in the hotpools.
I would have to agree with you that the statue walk was my favourite activity.
Keep up the great blogging, I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Miss H :-)
